Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1949 Ford F1 pickup. The all new F1 was introduced in 1948. Built as a larger truck with more cabin space than Fords previous model. The public was looking for a new type of truck that was still utilitarian but provided daily driver comforts. The F1 series was then first Ford pickup to use its own specific frame. A two-door pick up and a four- door panel truck were the available platforms. This 1949 F-1 is painted in satin white accented with a tastefully done red interior. Red accents can also be found on the red steel rims. Moon wheel covers, and wide whitewalls give this 1949 a classic period look. Chrome bumpers, chrome dual chrome mirrors and front chrome grille are great additions. The vinyl bench seat interior comes a modern cluster, tilt steering wheel and air conditioning. Under the hood of this beauty is 302 V-8 attached to a three-speed automatic transmission with a Lokar shifter. A Mustang II front end, ceramic headers, side exhaust, fuel cell under the bed, power steering and power brakes make for one fun driving pick-up. One cannot get goosebumps when you start up this 1949 Ford F-1 pickup and hear that throaty music coming from the tailpipes. A true classic truck with all the modern amenities.
