Vehicle description

1955 was a watershed year for Chevrolet. Introducing the 265 cubic inch small block V8, future variations of this engine design would ultimately power nearly 90 million vehicles worldwide. This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible while originally manufactured in Janesville, Wisconsin underwent a complete frame-off restoration in 1999 by one of the top restoration firms in America. Factory equipped with Chevrolet???s all-new Super Turbo-Fire V8, a 4 barrel Rochester carburetor and dual exhaust, the Power Pack combination produced 180 horsepower to the 2 speed automatic Powerglide transmission. Retail price began at $2,305 including the factory convertible top, but this vehicle sported factory extras such as the power windows, push button AM radio, bumper guards and white wide walls. First used in 1955, this Bel Air dash includes two warning lights instead of the actual gauges for oil pressure and generator functions.
