Vehicle description
This custom 1953 Chevrolet 5700 COE pickup received a complete Escondido Restomods transformation, beginning with a chassis swap to a Chevrolet Express 3500 chassis while retaining the original dually rear end. The rear fender flares were extended to accommodate wide 24-inch wheels, and the bed was custom-built to appear original while matching the cab dimensions, with the front fenders modified and widened to suit the new front track and larger wheels. Powered by a 6.0-liter LS V8 engine and 4-speed automatic transmission, it features air suspension managed by AccuAir air management along with a PSI conversion harness for engine management, and the rear chassis incorporates a C-notch with a four-link suspension and Watts link for centered, controlled movement. The custom interior was completed by Old Town Upholstery in Escondido, CA, with modernized trim and comfort-focused craftsmanship, including custom door panels, custom seating, roof headliner and engine cover, plus a RetroSound original-style Bluetooth radio. Additional thoughtful engineering includes a raised bed floor and a remote-operated bed hatch designed to access the rear end and refuel the fuel tank.
