Vehicle description
1960 Porsche 356B SUPER T5 Cabriolet • Chassis No. 154950 • Engine No. 88351 - Matching • Certificate of Authenticity • Completed January 11, 1961 Beautiful condition, inside and out, finished in the original factory color combination, Aetna Blue (Code 6003) with a Red interior and delivered with desirable options including armrests, ventilated chrome wheels, clock, CoCo mats, and Dunlop tires. The paintwork is stunning as a result of a bare-metal restoration with excellent gaps and panel fit - the brightwork, trim, and badging present beautifully, complemented by the original door glass, 128 Hella fog lights with clear lenses, and 4 x 15-inch chrome slotted wheels mounted to Vredestein Sprint Classic 165 15 tires with Porsche "Super" hubcaps. The interior was upholstered in Red leather by K&H Auto Upholstery, including the front and rear seats, dash, door panels, and German square-weave carpets. At the same time, a new black canvas soft top, pad, and headliner were fitted. Interior details include a VDM steering wheel, factory VDO instrumentation, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and a clock. The undercarriage and suspension are fully detailed, solid, and rust-free. Service records reflect long-term California ownership from 1976 to 1984, spanning three owners. By 2017, the 356 was purchased by the previous owner, who did a complete bare metal repaint. The components to complete the restoration were sourced from Stoddard. After the paintwork and assembly, the Cabriolet was shipped to have a completely new interior installed. Once completed, the 356 was driven sparingly for the next few years before it was offered to European Collectibles. At EC, it received a thorough engine out tune and detail, the braking system was completely rebuilt, and the undercarriage and suspension were stripped to steel and detail. Mechanically powered by the numbers-matching 1600 cc SUPER flat-four engine (Type 616/2), rated at 75 hp, paired with a four-speed manual transmission (Type 741), and four-wheel drum brakes, this Cabriolet offers both authenticity and driving enjoyment. It is accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, owner's manual, spare wheel, and an impressive file of service records spanning over 49 years. A rare opportunity to acquire a well-restored, numbers-matching 356B T5 Super Cabriolet finished in a striking factory color combination.
