For sale is an original owner 1965 Volvo 544 Sport. The car was used daily until the late 1990s, and covered well over 500,000 miles during that time frame. It was purchased in Santa Barbara, California and has resided in Berkeley since 1969. Over the years the car was meticulously maintained when it was driven regularly and has upgrades including a (very strong) b20 engine, air horns, a glass pack muffler (not obnoxiously loud, but it sounds very nice), and a front sway bar. For these reasons, I believe it would be a great drivetrain to use as a transplant. Unfortunately, the body has a tremendous amount of rust and, even though the car was painted in 2022, the job isn't the best and the repairs to the most significant areas were subpar. Also, the letters for the hood and various other emblems are missing. Along those lines, the car will be sold without the rear bumper. In short, this is a car that drove extremely well the last time I spent three days driving it around the East Bay in September of 2020 ("before" images--no paint), and again for a half a day in 2022 ("after" images--painted and outdoors). The seats are from a later model 240 series, but they are shot, and the dash pad is wherever the letters and emblems are... Sigh. I would still list the car as fair, however, because it is complete and original as far as glass, switches, hubcaps, etc.are concerned. I've written in 750,000 miles because the owner was given a badge by Volvo that commemorated that amount (or something near it) in the 90s, but the odometer is broken and the true mileage is unknown. The car is currently in Antioch, California and I would like to sell it between 2/14 and 2/20. There is no battery, and I'd suggest a trailer for transporting the vehicle.
