The car was completed on April 18, 1966, and delivered to Carroll Shelby's High-Performance Motors in El Segundo, CA, for dealer preparation before being assigned to the Hertz Los Angeles Airport Agency for rental use. It was sold in August 1967 and remained in Phoenix, AZ. The car underwent a concours-level restoration completed in 2025 and was judged at SAAC-50 in Sonoma, California, where it received a Premier Award.
