Vehicle description
This 1968 Amphicar 770 convertible represents one of the most unique production vehicles ever built, engineered for seamless operation both on land and water. It is one of only 3,878 Amphicars produced in Germany between 1961 and 1968. Powered by its inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission, this 770 model operates exactly as designed: driving on the road and swimming in the water. It has been fully serviced mechanically. Several upgrades have been performed, including new rubber seals, new interior upholstery, a new convertible top and new whitewall tires, all contributing to its refreshed appearance and functionality. The 1968 Amphicar 770 is celebrated for being "the fastest car on the water," and this example stands as a well-presented, usable and collectible piece of amphibious automotive history.
