Street/Strip Masterpiece- The owner of this 1971 Nova Street/Strip/Show car has possessed it for twenty years. When he began the Rotisserie Restoration, his goal was to produce a show winning race car - one must always have a goal. The restoration was completed in 2021, and the result is a Street/Strip masterpiece that debuted at the World of Wheels in Birmingham, Alabama. Award Winning- The Nova is a multi-Award-Winning show car, including Outstanding Comp Car and Best of Show at a GSRA event. That said, the show car was built to not only be street legal, but to meet 8.50 NHRA safety specs. This Nova has 16 passes to its credit and runs a true 9 sec quarter mile on the street on the motor and well into the 8's on nitrous. The best dragstrip pass was 6.07 @ 113 / 9.60 @ 138 on motor foot braking. The trans brake or nitrous was never used. It has been taken to and enjoyed at local cruises as well. All Steel Wonder- The Nova is a full bodied, all-steel sedan with a fiberglass hood that has a full interior. The custom 2-stage finish is an SPI product that is shade brighter than Hugger Orange. It was color sanded and the finish is on the virtually perfect body is exceptional. Accents include a custom hood, all new chrome/emblems/moldings/plates and a Stroud chute. Custom 'Choke-Hold' artwork and pin stripping have also been added (on top of the clear coat). Strike A Stance- The rear wheel wells have been professionally mini-tubbed and look like factory. The coupe strikes a great stance on 750 Series Sander Engineering 15x10/15x4" polished aluminum wheels that mount 10.5" M/T street radials. - it is all top shelf. Interior Perfection- The handsome orange vinyl interior incorporates a full chromoly roll cage with breakaway bar designed by HR Racecars. The upholstery is the factory Nova deluxe interior design but specially created with Hugger Orange vinyl by PUI interiors. Front seats are Ultra Shield aluminum racing seats with perfectly fitted custom orange seat covers. Other features include a C3 Corvette tilt wheel, Covan dash with Pro Comp Autometer gauges, all new hardware and Race Quip harnesses/window net. The details of this one-off Hugger Orange interior is amazing. Big Block Horsepower- Horsepower is provided by a fresh 499ci BBC. The motor has been carefully prepared for ultimate performance by Hammerhead Performance. Dyno sheets included show 854hp/669lb/ft. Some of the mechanical elements include: • 4-Bolt GM BBC • Bored 4.322 • 4.250 Eagle crank/6.385 Eagle rods • Diamond 12.5:1 pistons • John Kaase Racing ported Dart 310cc heads - 400cfm flow • 2.300"/1.880" valves • CompCam solid roller cam - 275/290 duration - .746/.734 lift @ .050 • CompCam roller rockers • MSD GRID distributor/ignition • HD aluminum radiator with dual electric fans/electric water pump • Custom 2-1/8 polished ceramic headers/exhaust • 16V Electrical system w/XS Power battery in trunk The big-block is fitted with a ported Edelbrock intake, a Pro Systems 1150 Dominator carb, NOS fogger system with two nitrous tanks (never used) and dual fuel tanks - stock gas tank/race-fuel cell. (This engine is said to run fine on the street with pump gas, with an additive.) The Sid Neal Racing PowerGlide has 1.80 straight cut gears and is mated to a PTC convertor. It is fitted with a Hughs trans brake and Derale cooler w/fans. Shifting is handled by a B&M Pro Stick with a Shifnoid electric solenoid. A 3.5" steel drive shaft delivers torque to a HR Racecar custom braced 12-bolt Chevy spool-differential w/33-spline Stange axles and 4.10:1 gears. Well Built Chassis With Performance- The chassis is fitted with rack and pinion manual steering, Competition Engineering ladder bars, multi-link/coil-over rear suspension and brakes are manual Aerospace front discs with aluminum drums on the rear. Upon completion, HR Racecars carefully scaled and 4-corner weight-adjusted the Nova - it hooks hard and goes straight. This Nova is a unique piece for getting down the road. The owner has furnished much more information relating to the build in carefully documented folders that come with the car. He will also be available to discuss the car and answer any questions that a potential buyer may have.
