Vehicle description
This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is powered by a 429ci Super Cobra Jet Ram Air V8 engine paired with a C6 automatic transmission and equipped with the Drag Pack option, which includes a 3.91:1 nodular-iron-cased Traction-Lok rear axle, 31-spline axles, oil cooler, LeMans connecting rods and a specially balanced 1UA crankshaft. Airflow is managed by a Holley-pattern intake manifold with large runners and a factory Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Additional performance features include solid-lifter camshaft, factory long-runner exhaust manifolds, finned aluminum valve covers and functional Ram Air system with NASA hood. It rides on Magnum 500 wheels and includes front and rear spoilers. The exterior is finished in silver, complemented by black Clarion knit/Corinthian vinyl deluxe interior with center console, in-dash stereo radio with 8-track player, factory tachometer with gauge package, tinted glass and sport deck fold-down rear seat. The trunk includes a collapsible spare tire, inflator bottle and jack with handle/lug wrench tool. The vehicle underwent a full nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration using NOS parts when available and was recently refreshed. The engine bay and trunk are detailed to factory standards. Only 556 Super Cobra Jet Ram Air Drag Pack Mustangs were built for 1971. This example is documented as one-of-one as equipped.
