Vehicle description
New photos coming soon. This is a rare, highly collectible, and extremely clean (not perfect) 1986 Jeep Cherokee. It comes with: Chief Trim Package; command trac option; exceptional intact saddle / patterned brown vinyl seats along with matching dashboard and door panels; original well maintained external paint and solid rust free body panels; undercarriage well taken care of; transmission/engine run strong; and impressive low mileage (approx. 58k). Background story: The Jeep Cherokee name was initially applied in 1974 to the full-size Wagoneer, which was designed by legendary Brooks Stevens Associates for Kaiser Jeep in 1963. Cherokee (XJ) was considered a compact size when it officially arrived in 1983. It enjoyed great success, continuing after Chrysler’s AMC/Jeep buyout in 1987 with refinements through 2001. For much of the Cherokee XJ-generation, it was America’s most powerful and best-performing sport utility vehicle - the Jeep’s 4.0L inline 6-cyliner engine. Renowned for their rugged off-road durability and startling on-road prowess, most XJ Cherokees saw high mileage hauling families from the soccer field to remote getaways with ease until they were eventually used up and retired. With the wild growth of restoration and modification for many American 4x4 SUV models, it was only a matter of time until the Cherokee - with its relatively compact dimensions, excellent powertrains, and ruggedly handsome styling - would find its day in the sun as a highly popular modern collectible.
