Vehicle description

This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E roadster was factory-built as a high-performance V8 sport sedan developed through a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, with final assembly completed at Porsche's Zuffenhausen facility. Power is provided by a factory 5.0-liter naturally aspirated DOHC 32-valve V8 engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, with drivetrain integration handled by Porsche. The chassis features Porsche-developed suspension tuning, independent suspension, hydropneumatic rear axle self-leveling and four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes with ABS engineered specifically for the 500E platform. The exterior is finished in the factory 500E Euro widebody configuration with model-specific front and rear bodywork, widened fenders and a lowered wide-track stance, and this example is equipped with Euro-spec headlamps and AMG alloy wheels. The interior is trimmed in black leather and includes factory Recaro sport seats with power adjustment and heating, four-place seating with rear center console, power sunroof, Alcantara suede headliner, automatic climate control, cruise control, full power accessories, a leather- and wood-trim steering wheel, matching wood and leather shifter, and complete factory instrumentation. Total production of the 500E was limited to approximately 1,735 units worldwide, and this example retains its original engine and Porsche-engineered mechanical components.
